Arlyn May Tworek, 84, Saint Helena, died on June 24, 2021, at her home in the presence and comfort of her family.
Visitations will be held from 12:30 p.m. until funeral time at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 2, at Funeral Directors Wagner and Walsh, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon. A funeral service will be held after the funeral at Elmwood Cemetery, Grayling.
Born July 21, 1936 in Forester, she was the daughter of Edwin and Hazel (Smith) Willett. She married Glenn Barnes on November 17, 1989 in Roscommon.
She worked for Statewide Real Estate for over 10 years. She worked for Carter’s bakery in St Helena for 13 years, after retiring in 1998. She was a staunch member of the Assembly of God in St Helena, having served as choirmaster, guitarist, superintendent of Sunday school, secretary and head of mission. . She was a life member of VFW Auxiliary No. 4159, Roscommon, and the Marine Corps League of Houghton Lake. She had many hobbies and enjoyed crocheting, collecting headlights, traveling and listening to music. She loved spending time with her family. They all grew up playing instruments and singing together. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Her parents predeceased her; husband, Glenn; son, Dale Tworek; daughter, Michelle Guigear; and brothers, Franklin and Floyd Willett.
Her surviving children, Mark Tworek of St. Helen, Paul (Edie) Tworek of St. Helen and Rhonda (John) Jenner of West Branch; six stepchildren; many grandchildren including Craig, Cindy, Randy, Ryan, Tyler, Heather, Jared, Zachary and Austin; several great-grandchildren; six sisters and two brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family prefers memorial contributions to be made on Ms. Tworek’s behalf to the family. Checks may be made payable to Rhonda Jenner.
