Clinton Fire Captain Jason Burton honored by Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. for saving his neighbor’s life

A Clinton firefighter was honored by the Worcester District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday for his swift response, which saved his neighbor’s life in November.
Captain Jason Burton received the District Attorney’s Team – or TEAM – Award of Excellence and Merit for providing CPR to his neighbor.
On November 9, while off duty, Burton heard a knock on his door after his neighbor’s husband stopped breathing. Burton then performed CPR on the man before an ambulance arrived, the prosecutor said. Due to Burton’s action, the prosecutor said, the man made a full recovery and returned home for the holidays.
“No matter what time of day, on or off duty, the captain’s willingness to put others first really speaks to his character,” Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said. saw a community member in need and did everything in their power to help them. “
