France to work with United Arab Emirates on renewable energy and hydrogen projects
New Delhi: French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Sunday that France would work with the United Arab Emirates on new projects in the energy sector, including renewables and hydrogen.
“Achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050 is an important goal, and we want to work with the United Arab Emirates on this fight against climate change,” Le Maire told reporters in Abu Dhabi.
The minister called for economic and investment cooperation as the French economy recovers from the coronavirus pandemic, and he mentioned investments in new supply chains as one of the reasons for his visit to the Gulf States.
“It is time to give new impetus to economic cooperation between our countries,” he said.
The Mayor was to meet with the heads of the Abu Dhabi state funds ADQ and Mubadala, as well as the state oil company ADNOC.
