Italian airline ITA buys 28 Airbus and leases 31 from Air Lease By Reuters

MILAN (Reuters) – Alitalia’s successor ITA has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for the purchase of 28 new aircraft, the carrier said on Thursday, adding that the first new aircraft would start flying in the three first months of next year.
The new Italian carrier has also signed an agreement with Air Lease Corp for the supply of 31 Airbus aircraft.
ITA is expected to start flying in mid-October, replacing airline Alitalia.
