Skanska is rebuilding the offshore wind port in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA for 223 million USD, or approximately 2.3 billion SEK
STOCKHOLM, August 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Skanska has signed a contract with the Virginia Port Authority to rebuild 72 acres of the Portsmouth Marine Terminal in Portsmouth, Virginia, UNITED STATES. Skanska will include the contract worth $223 millionon 2.3 billion Swedish crownsin order intake in the United States for the third quarter of 2022.
The project will redevelop approximately 72 acres of the 287-acre Portsmouth Marine Terminal for use as an offshore wind transit port, improving 1,500ft of an existing 3,540ft quay.
The marine terminal redevelopment supports the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project, which is the largest offshore wind project of its type in the United States.
Construction has started July 2022and completion is scheduled for 2025.
